Terms of service
Effective 16 October 2026
In short. The plugin is free software under the GPL. MazeGuard Cloud is an optional paid service. MazeGuard reports indicators for you to review; it is not a firewall, it does not guarantee to find or remove malware, and you remain responsible for your site and its backups.
Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Design Maze ("we", "us"), which builds and operates MazeGuard Security and MazeGuard Cloud. By using MazeGuard Cloud or this website you agree to them. If you use MazeGuard on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
The plugin
The MazeGuard Security WordPress plugin is free software, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. That licence, not these terms, governs your rights to use, study, change and share the plugin's code. Everything the plugin does on your own server works without a MazeGuard Cloud licence.
MazeGuard Cloud
MazeGuard Cloud is an optional service that needs our servers: relaying alerts from outside your site, noticing when a site stops checking in, and running external vulnerability scans. It requires a licence, and each licence covers the number of sites stated for its plan.
- Keep your licence key private. Anyone holding it can connect sites to your licence.
- You may connect only sites you own or are authorised to manage.
- You may request external scans only of sites you own or have written permission to test. Scanning anyone else's site is prohibited.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or to access data that is not yours.
Fees, renewal and cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price shown when you buy, and renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your licence stays active until the end of the period already paid for, and we do not refund partial periods unless the law requires it. If a payment fails, we may suspend the licence until it is resolved. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change for an existing subscription.
What MazeGuard does and does not do
MazeGuard findings are indicators that something deserves a person's attention. They are not proof of infection, and the absence of findings is not proof that a site is safe. In particular:
- MazeGuard is not a firewall and does not filter traffic.
- It does not remove malware automatically and does not guarantee to detect every threat.
- A file that matches its WordPress.org release was not changed on your site; that does not mean the release itself is safe.
- Actions you take on its advice — quarantining, restoring or deleting files, revoking sessions or passwords, changing Cloudflare settings — are yours. Back up your site before taking them.
- Alert delivery depends on networks and services outside our control. A delivery that fails is logged, not guaranteed to be retried.
Availability and changes
We work to keep MazeGuard Cloud available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or improve the service; if we remove a feature your paid plan depends on, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
Your data
Data your sites send to MazeGuard Cloud remains yours. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end a licence that breaks these terms — for example, scanning sites without permission — or whose payment has failed. You may stop using the service at any time by cancelling your subscription and disconnecting your sites.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, MazeGuard Cloud and this website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and the detection or prevention of any particular threat. The plugin's warranty position is set by the GPL, which provides it without warranty.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, revenue or business, arising from MazeGuard or from a security incident on your site. Our total liability for any claim relating to MazeGuard Cloud is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and its effective date. For changes that materially affect paid subscribers, we will give at least 30 days' notice; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
